Not sure why you wouldn't consider something like a laser hair removal. You can buy small units for home use. Probably ends up costing the same as chemicals and it actually gets rid of the hair for good. I did this at the salon and there is no pain involved and the laser process is non toxic. Compared to using some of the chemicals mentioned, why not give it a try? Everything else is less healthy and temporary at best.

What kind of men would go through this for a year on a weekly basis? I wish it worked the first month and you didn't have to keep going back. Is it really that painful?

Laser hair removal is one of the best things ever invented. I think it should be more affordable to those willing to go through the pain; however, I do wish it was a one time deal. Technology will soon be improving this though I hope.

i'm not even sure if laser treatment would help. i think your skin would probably react badly. just go into the centre and ask to see a nurse who will talk you through your options. medicare probably won't cover illnesses that happened prior to the cover having been taken out.

if you have high pain tolerance try threading, ask salons about it, it may be painful but i love the results, it's the only one I can think of.

laser cost so high and i'm not a fan of hair removal cream cause they burn the skin.

First, I would go to a doctor and make sure that the excessive hair is not a symptom of an underlying illness.

If it's not anything serious, you'll need to determine what your best hair removal method will be. Laser hair removal is very expensive and there is no guarantee that it will "kill" the unwanted hair growth. It works best on individuals that have dark hairs and fair skin. Consultations at a reputable cosmetic dermatologist or surgeon in regard to laser hair removal is free or inexpensive. It usually takes multiple sessions but may or may not produce results.

I've had "hairy" boyfriends before. It was never an issue with me by the way ;-). My first boyfriend, happened to have a hairy back, and he got waxed every few weeks at a salon. It was a routine for him and he was a body-builder, so he wanted to keep his skin smooth and hairless.

My other boyfriend was just really hairy below the neck and on his chest and back. He consulted a plastic surgeon about permanent hair removal, but the doctor confirmed that it would be expensive and not necessarily successful.

I suggest you use a combination of bleaches and/or waxes. If you want to do it on your own, the best and most accessible hair removal products out there are Sally Hansen. If the hair under your eyes is not curly or coarse, use the Sally Hansen face bleach on it. Just buy the pack and follow the directions, and the hairs will be bleached and almost invisible against your skin.

If the hair on your face and around your nose is dark and coarse and really noticeable, you should wax those parts of your face. If you're shy and don't want to go to a salon, use the Sally Hansen wax and follow the directions carefully. It's perfectly safe. But I suggest making an appointment at a salon for your first wax, just so you know what's involved. - I mean, think about it, thousands of women get their pubic hairs waxed at a salon every day! So, don't be shy to get your face waxed! Body builders get full body waxes too!

I hope I've been helpful! Good luck!

It's not strictly a laser hair device but their is a device which uses Thermicon technology. I've been reading about it here http://homepermanent-hairremoval.com. I got mine last month and it seems pretty good.

At home laser hair removal is also an option over going to a spa or clinic. You can perform the treatments in the privacy of home at your convenience while owning a personal device. Working similarly to the professional treatments, the best candidates are those with light skin and dark hair and require multiple treatments for optimal results.

Although you can save a substantial amount of money over professional treatments, look very carefully into the model before purchasing so you don’t waste your money. And like with any high-tech device, make sure to fully read the instructions and precautions before using.

A cordless rechargeable diode laser cleared by the FDA for use on the neck down, it has three (most recent version now has five) adjustable settings to control the amount of heat. A skin sensor comes in the kit to test your skin tone, and only if you pass with a green light will the Tria unlock for use.
